Chang Cancer Wellness Grant was made possible by the generosity of the Academy for Cancer Wellness, Inc., a non-profit organization established in 1995 by Alice F. Chang, along with John J. Welker and his wife, the late Gertrude Welker.

Its purpose is to provide support for cancer patients, as well as for their family and friends. Alice F. Chang, PhD, was a scientist-practitioner and founder of the Academy for Cancer Wellness, a nonprofit organization benefiting individuals diagnosed with cancer, along with their relatives and friends.

She maintained a private practice in Tucson, Arizona, that provided mental health support to marginalized communities. Additionally, Chang wrote A Survivor’s Guide to Breast Cancer , which is not only a professional guide to diagnosis, treatment, and survival, but is also a memoir that discusses her personal experiences as a breast cancer survivor.

Chang served on numerous APA boards and committees and won several awards for her contribution to the field on both local and national levels. The Alice F.
