Essentials4Homeless/ShelteredDuring 2022 FFCOF assisted the homeless in San Diego and Imperial Counties by providing essentials for those in shelters. The homeless indigents we supported at the time these projects took place, resided at the below shelters operated by Catholic Charities or Alpha Project. The Foundation engaged approximately 30 volunteers purchasing, soliciting, and preparing the donations and delivering them to Alpha Project, and Catholic Charities.April Project: Backpacks with Clothing and Personal Items for Mens shelters: FFCOF purchased and volunteers prepared and personalized 250 backpacks color coded and labeled by size, with a new towel, washcloth, sweatshirt, polo shirt, T-shirt, underwear, and full sizes of toiletries. FFCOF delivered directly to Casa Raphael April 25, 2022 (Vista, CA) and Catholic Charities admin office. The men are always very grateful, especially for our letters of hope. Essentials4StudentsAugust Project: School Supplies The Foundation supported 50 indigent students with backpacks, school supplies, family sized toiletries, socks, and uniforms according to need, at e3 Civic High (Downtown, San Diego). FFCOF worked with administration to get specific school supply lists. The community was invited to the Workshop on August 23, 2022, where the items were sorted and assembled. Community/Engage - $2,260Food & Pantry Distribution:In 2022, FFCOF continued our food pantry, initiated in September, 2019. FFCOF volunteers handed out food monthly to indigent students families at e3 Civic High School and Island Village, a low income apartment complex in downtown San Diego. This need is identified in ongoing coordination with administration. In 2019, FFCOF was accepted as a San Diego Food Bank Non-Profit Partner, where FFCOF purchases most of the food. The Foundation serves approximately 50-75 indigent families and individuals monthly, by appointment, with monthly family sized portions of food, and occasionally non-food household essentials. e3 Civic High families are typically 5-7 people.Blanket & Clothing Drive - Immigrant shelter (El Centro, CA)FFCOF engaged a UCSD fraternity to collect donations of clothing and blankets.
