Little Flower Catholic Therapy Missions

Mission trip: our organization put on 1 mission trip this fiscal year. We had 10 volunteers participate in the trip. Those volunteers spent 6 days in Kingston JA working with the Missionaries of the Poor. The trip focused on bed positioning environment enhancement therapy evaluations therapy provider training

Expenses: $7K

Therapy Program Sponsorship: In order to improve the carryover from mission trip to mission trip the nonprofit raised money to assist the brothers to pay a person to provide interventions guided by the evaluations completed by the therapists on the mission trip. We started at 4 days wk but increased to 5 days wk due to how fruitful the program was.

Expenses: $6K

Positioning devices: children at the orphanage spend significant time in bed due to how physically impaired they are. This creates a viscous cycle as extended time in bed leads to worse physical condition. Purchased positioning equipment such as bolsters and wedges and created individualized positioning plans for each child.

Expenses: $3K

Wheelchairs: money spent to acquire wheelchairs and hardware to modify wheelchairs in order to being the process of meeting each child's individual positioning and mobility needs. New chairs for this level of disability are very expensive so trying to locate and refurbish used chairs.
