Mind The Gap Initiative Corp

Through Mind the Gap Initiative's "My Environment My Mental Health" program we utilized public spaces such as parks to be encouraged as safe spaces in which mental well-being is promoted. These programs included mental health and mindfulness education led by professionals in the field. Each program included a portion of mental health education to inform communities about what mental well-being is and the importance of maintaining mental well-being through self-care techniques. The second pillar of this program involved a hands-on mindfulness activity to put the practice into action.

Mind the Gap Initiative's Community Leadership Program taught Community Leaders how mental illness may be impacting individuals in their community and how to help transform the conversation surrounding mental health in a positive manner to overcome the stigma attached to it. It provided a basic overview of common signs of mental illness or distress that is out of the ordinary. Through our program community leaders are equipt with the tools to differentiate between mental health and mental illness and learn how to approach complex situations to ensure the people around them are able to get the support they need.
