In December 2020 the University of Vermont proposed to terminate the UVM Historic Preservation masters program. The Alumni Association hosted a series of virtual meetings via Zoom to share updates on ongoing negotiations with the University Administration to save the program. These were attended by over 100 alumni current students and program faculty.
A fundraising and curriculum development committees were formed among members of the UVM Historic Preservation Program Alumni Association to support efforts to expand and evolve the masters program. As of the fall 2021 ten incoming students were admitted to the program and plans to end the program were postponed while negotiations continue.
Annual Reception for incoming UVM Historic Preservation Masters students was held September 15 2021 in Burlington VT. Approximately 25 current and incoming students faculty and alumni attended the in-person event. This was our first in-person event in over a year since the Covid-19 pandemic began.
