Historical advocacy arguments about quality of life, independence, functional status, and equity need to be enhanced by accurate data on the downstream costs that are avoided by upstream services provided by the professions. Some examples of possible outcomes include: total cost of care, length of stay, readmission rates, discharge setting, secondary and tertiary prevention, preventable adverse events, savings on discontinued medical interventions. New Century Scholars Doctoral Scholarship Supports doctoral students committed to a teacher-investigator career in the U. S. For: Students who are enrolled in, or accepted to, a research doctoral program (PhD or equivalent) in CSD Award: Up to 15 scholarships of $10,000 each Graduate Student Scholarship Supports CSD graduate students who demonstrate academic achievement and promise.

DiCarlo Award for Recent Clinical Achievement Recognize a significant accomplishment in clinical practice within the past six years in audiology and/or speech-language pathology. For: Clinicians (who have made a single, specific, well-defined achievement) Rolland J.

Van Hattum Award for Contribution in the Schools Recognizes an individual's exemplary commitment and contribution to the delivery of audiology and/or speech-language pathology services within a school setting.
