Example projects include wiring, heating, accessibility features, lighting, and stage improvements; building improvements; permanent display panels or exhibit cases; permanent infrastructure or fixed equipment; and hazard mitigation efforts such as flood gates, rain gutters, sprinkler systems.

Priority 1 projects include historic resource surveys, national register nominations, preservation planning, information and education projects, and project pre-development work. DISASTER RECOVERY – FEMA Public Assistance Funding Entity: Federal Emergency Management Agency Eligible Activities: Provides supplemental Federal grant assistance for debris removal, emergency protective measures, and the restoration of disaster-damaged, publicly owned facilities and specific facilities of certain types of private nonprofit organizations.
There are seven categories of assistance, one or all are federally authorized for any disaster event. Encourages protection of damaged facilities from future incidents by providing assistance for hazard mitigation measures.
