8 million in this second round. The program is accepting proposals for projects that will start no earlier than April 1, 2023, and will be completed by March 31, 2024. All Canadians have the right to fully participate in society.
Advancing accessibility is about creating barrier-free communities, workplaces and services for all Canadians. This is especially important to the more than 6 million Canadians, aged 15 and over, who have a disability. Access to technology and to the Internet is essential in developing and maintaining the professional, social, economic and cultural networks necessary to fully participate in society and the digital economy.
Unfortunately, many Canadians still face significant barriers to accessing technology and the Internet. Since 2017, the program has supported the development of over 28 solutions and is ready to continue this work with innovators and entrepreneurs to make a difference in the lives of Canadians with disabilities.
