Advanced Manufacturing Training Grant Program | CAM Advanced Manufacturing Training Grant Program Supporting and enhancing the Massachusetts manufacturing industry. The Advanced Manufacturing Training Grant (AMTG) program, administered by the Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CAM) at MassTech, supports workforce training initiatives that address the evolving skill needs of Massachusetts manufacturers.
The program is designed to strengthen the state’s manufacturing workforce by funding partnerships between training providers and employers to deliver industry-relevant training programs. AMTG-funded programs equip individuals with the technical and professional skills needed to succeed in advanced manufacturing careers including roles in machining, welding, fabrication, production and related fields.
Training is developed in close collaboration with employers to ensure alignment with current workforce demands and to create direct pathways to employment. The program prioritizes serving unemployed, underemployed and underrepresented populations helping to expand access to high-quality career opportunities while building a more diverse and inclusive manufacturing workforce.
AMTG also supports incumbent worker training to help companies upskill their existing workforce and remain competitive. Through AMTG, CAM invests in scalable, high-impact training programs that drive job placement, career advancement, and long-term workforce development across the Commonwealth’s advanced manufacturing sector.
Fund planned training programs that address direct hiring needs, as identified by industry partners and/or labor market data. Overall total instructional hours should be a minimum of 100 hours and maximum of 350 hours per occupational program. The cost per student should not exceed $8,000 per proposed student/employment outcome.
Training cohort(s) of a minimum of 10 students preferred. Outcome Goals: A strong proposal will have the components required to achieve at least an 80% completion rate and 70% job placement rate (measured upon 30 days retention) of participants that completed training.
Must have at least one (1) industry partner that: Ensures the program is responding to direct hiring needs in the proposed target occupation; Provides curriculum and/or training input; and Commits to use the proposed program as a potential source of candidates to meet their hiring needs.
