Advancing Renewables Program Program - Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) Advancing Renewables Program The Advancing Renewables Program supports a range of development, demonstration and pre-commercial deployment projects. This includes opportunities to optimise the transition to renewable electricity, commercialise clean hydrogen and support the transition to low emissions metals.
1 Step 1 - Read the program guidelines 2 Step 2 - Observe the key dates 3 Step 3 - Prepare your response Step 1 - Read the program guidelines The Advancing Renewables Program (ARP) is continuously open for applications that address our investment focus areas to: Optimise the transition to renewable electricity Commercialise clean hydrogen Support the transition to low emissions metals ARENA wishes to attract and fund projects that align with its Investment Plan .
Through the Advancing Renewables Program, ARENA is able to fund only those low emissions projects and activities that involve a renewable energy technology or technologies that increase the supply of, or improve the competitiveness of, renewable energy in Australia and have a clear nexus to renewable energy and its enabling technologies.
Before proceeding to Step 2, read the following documents: Advancing Renewables Program Guidelines (PDF 327KB) General Funding Strategy and Investment Plan Step 2 - Observe the key dates The Advancing Renewables Program (ARP) is an open, ongoing program which will run until funds are exhausted or otherwise terminated or extended at ARENA’s discretion. Applications will be assessed on a regular basis as driven by pipeline volume.
Please ensure you engage with ARENA prior to submitting any application online. The first step is to Tell us about your project and we will review and provide guidance. Step 3 - Prepare your response How to submit an application for funding Prior to submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI), ensure you have engaged with us.
Tell us about your project Step 3. 1: Navigate to and create an account with ARENANet Step 3. 2: Scroll to the Advancing Renewables Program section of the program options when commencing your expression of interest application.
Step 3. 3: Select the two-stage process unless you have received an exemption from ARENA for a one-stage full application. Refer to Item 4.
5 of the ARP Guidelines for guidance on EOI waivers. Step 3. 4: Submit the following attachments with your EOI application.
Applicants submitting an expression of interest are required to submit a project plan and conflict of interest declaration (see template below).

Item 4. 7 of the ARP Guidelines outlines the requirements that must be met to submit a Full Application.
