Grants and Resources — Alabama Arts Alliance (Alabama Arts Education Initiative) The Alabama State Department of Education offers $20,000 grants to schools and community organizations to develop, strengthen, and expand arts education programs in dance, media arts, music, theatre, and visual arts.
Grant-funded projects should address local needs, increase student participation in the arts, and promote student growth through meaningful, authentic artistic experiences. The program encourages collaboration among schools, families, artists, cultural organizations, and community partners to strengthen arts education throughout Alabama.
The program seeks to strengthen arts education across the state, build the capacity of schools and community organizations, and create sustainable opportunities for students to experience high-quality arts learning. RFP’s are usually available in the fall of each school year.

edu Alabama State Council on the Arts Grants The Arts Council offers a variety of arts related grant opportunities to schools, districts, organizations and individuals with various application deadlines. Proposed activities must be located within Alabama and implemented by grantees based within the state. Contact a program manager for more information.

501(c)3 nonprofit organizations, schools, and school systems may apply for a grant up to $5,000. The application deadline is June 15 and December 15. Program Requirements and Guidelines A grant may be submitted from nonprofit organizations with a 501(c)3 designation, schools, or school systems.
Grants will not be considered for individuals. One grant request per organization up to $5,000 will be considered per deadline. Only one grant per organization will be awarded per calendar year.
If an organization is awarded a grant, they must sit out the next two (2) tag grant deadlines before they are eligible to submit another application. They may apply again on the 3rd deadline after the deadline in which they were awarded a grant. Final reports for a previously funded project are required for an organization to be considered eligible when applying for a new project grant.
Projects with an arts education focus, statewide impact and/or are creative and innovative will receive priority funding. Art Tag Grant Application The application must be completed in its entirety. Additional pages will not be accepted.

To emphasize the importance of the arts for Alabama students, the Alabama Course of Study: Arts Education provides rigorous standards for all students in Grades K-12.
