Grant Information | Alzheimer's Foundation of America AFA provides several grant opportunities to our member organizations to help further our mission of providing support, services and education to individuals, families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias nationwide. Grants are awarded through a competitive application process.
Organizations that have been awarded an AFA grant in the previous cycle must wait one calendar year before applying again for that particular grant. Anne & Irving Brodsky Innovation Grant This grant provides $25,000 in funding for an innovative program which improves the lives of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other related illnesses and their families.

Our Bi-Annual membership grants deliver funding for programs and services that help further AFA’s mission of providing support, services and education to individuals, families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias nationwide. Each grant award is $6,000. Grants are awarded twice a year.
Milton & Phyllis Berg Respite Care Grant The Milton & Phyllis Berg Respite Care Grants are awarded to AFA member organizations to help provide respite care scholarships to families in need.
Studies have shown that respite care can help improve quality of life for both the individual living with Alzheimer’s and family caregivers by providing social engagement and cognitive stimulation for the individual, and affording a much-needed time-out for the caregiver. Each grant award is $6,000. Grants are awarded twice a year.
The CARES (Caring for Adults through Respite, Enrichment and Socialization) program at Collat Jewish Family Services in Birmingham, AL, supported by a Milton & Phyllis Berg Respite Care Grant.
Project Lifesaver International Grant AFA’s Project Lifesaver International grant program helps fund wandering prevention programs and other public safety initiatives designed to protect individuals living with dementia-related illnesses such as Alzheimer’s disease. All public safety agencies that are members of AFA and Project Lifesaver International (PLI) in good standing are welcome to apply for grant funding.
Each grant award is $6,000.
