American Spaces deliver compelling programs and activities on a wide range of themes and topics, from freedom of speech and digital rights to American history and innovative use of AI and technology. American Spaces aim to provide accurate information about the United States and combat disinformation; engage and leverage alumni of U.S. exchange programs to execute programming to compliment administrative priorities; facilitate English language learning and teaching; host strategic cultural programming; promote study at higher education institutions in the United States through EducationUSA; and offer professional skill building. In Zambia, the U.S. Embassy’s Public Diplomacy Section operates three American Spaces throughout the country – the American Center for Leadership at the U.S. Embassy in Lusaka; the American Corner at the National Institute for Public Administration in Lusaka; and the American Corner at Copperbelt University in Kitwe.
