The Vital Farms Local Impact Grantmaking Program reflects the company’s purpose to improve the lives of people, animals and the planet through food and a commitment to supporting the communities where its network of more than 600 small farms call home.
With $125,000 available in the grant program, Vital Farms will support projects that improve its farmers’ communities in four focus areas: Improving Access to Food/Transparency in Food Systems The program is open to 501(c)3 nonprofits or organizations with similar tax-exempt status serving 22 counties in which Vital Farms’ farmers operate throughout Missouri: Adair, Bates, Benton, Cedar, Cooper, Dade, Dallas, Greene, Howard, Howell, Laclede, Lawrence, Moniteau, Morgan, Oregon, Pettis, Polk, St.
Clair, Texas, Vernon, Webster and Wright counties. Supported by the Vital Farms Corporate Grantmaking Fund held by the CFO, the program will close at 11:45 p. m.
on May 14. Last year, the first Vital Farms Local Impact Grantmaking Program provided $127,474 to nine agencies for projects including farmers markets, community gardens and agriculture education.
