With 4,500 students, 21,000 employees, and 2. 1 million patient visits each year, CU Anschutz is the largest academic health center in the Rocky Mountain region and an economic anchor in the community. Major gifts from The Anschutz Foundation enabled University of Colorado Hospital (UCH), the CU School of Medicine, and Children’s Hospital Colorado (CHCO) to relocate to a single campus east of Denver.
The consolidation of health care capabilities and development to a single campus has resulted in state-of-the-art health care to benefit patients and the Colorado economy. CU Anschutz stands out as one of the few campuses in the country offering an exceptional academic medical center and two nationally recognized best hospitals.
It is the Foundation’s goal that the campus continues to be the place where medical education, research, and patient care work seamlessly together to change the world of medicine and health care including mental health in Colorado and beyond.

The Boys & Girls Club received a grant from The Anschutz Foundation to establish the Nancy P. Anschutz Center in a historic Denver neighborhood a decade ago.
This partnership has continued, since the doors of the Club opened, and ensures that every day kids in the Northeast Park Hill community have a safe, fun and engaging place to go after school and in the summer months. The Club provides programs to young people in the area, providing a place for them to learn, grow, and succeed in life.
The Club serves more than 200 registered members and is part of a renovated campus that also includes a community recreation center and library. The SCI Youth Grant Pitch Contest is a competitive program from Social Capital Inc. that funds youth-led community improvement projects in Greater Boston. Teams of high school students in grades 9 through 12 residing in Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, or Suffolk counties develop project ideas through coaching from local professionals, then pitch their proposals to a live panel of judges. Winning teams receive $1,000 to $2,000 in grant funding to execute their community-strengthening visions. The program builds career skills including public speaking, project management, and team collaboration, while cultivating cross-socioeconomic connections among peers and mentors throughout the region.
The System Innovations Grant (Youth Opportunities Fund) is a multi-year funding opportunity from the Ontario Trillium Foundation that supports collaborative projects working to understand and strengthen systems so they function better for young people. Improving Veteran Mental Health Grant Program is a grant from The Cigna Group Foundation that funds nonprofits providing housing stability and wraparound support services to improve the mental health of military veterans. The Foundation committed $9 million over three years addressing housing instability and its mental health impacts, as an estimated 40,000 veterans go without shelter nightly and 1.5 million are at risk of homelessness. Funded programs include mortgage and rental assistance, employment re-entry training, and housing development for veterans. Eligible nonprofits must leverage evidence-informed programs and align with at least one goal: increasing permanent housing, improving housing affordability, or enhancing wraparound services for veterans transitioning from shelters.
