Arts & Humanities Touring Grants - Michigan Humanities Download Sample Application Post Award Grant Requirements The Arts and Humanities Touring Grant Program is Closed for 2026 The Arts and Humanities Touring Program awards grants to help support the fees and expenses of touring performers, artists, exhibitors, and humanities presenters.
Touring Program grants are available to Michigan nonprofit organizations who may request: Up to 50 percent of a presenter’s fees and travel expenses. Applicants can apply for up to 4 different presenters and/or events in one application for a maximum grant award of $2,500.
Requests for a grant may not exceed $2,500 per application, and an organization may request up to four different presenters during the program period (April 1 to November 2026). Events must have a ticket price of $10 or lower to be eligible for funding. Events that are organization fundraisers are ineligible for funding.
Due to new federal requirements, organizations must have a Unique Entity Identifier to receive grant funds. For more information on how to obtain a Unique Entity Identifier, please click here. Grant applications will be processed in the order they are received and the program will remain open until all funds are expended.
Final reports will be due 30 days after the completion of your event. If the final report is not received on time, funds awarded will be considered forfeited by the organization. Failure to submit final reports will also disqualify the organization from applying for further funding for one year.
Please note, the maximum amount any presenter (artist, performance group, exhibitor, etc.) can receive for the 2026 cycle is $6,000. Arts and Humanities Touring Grants The Arts and Humanities Touring Program is a joint collaboration of Michigan Humanities and the Michigan Arts and Culture Council.
