Providing stroke and brain injury survivors with financial assistance and resources to help them better control and manage their journey to recovery. You had a stroke. Now what?
A stroke is a “brain attack” and the fifth leading cause of death in the United States. It’s also the number one cause of long-term disability in the United States. You’re a survivor!
Stay positive. The brain is actually capable of re-wiring itself, called neuroplasticity , which means your brain can modify or create new connections and get stronger over time, helping you re-learn how to do the things that were lost or may have become more difficult after a stroke. Recovery is a diligent journey – one that is often not covered by health insurance.
But with proper support, both emotionally and financially, survivors can be confident in their ability to regain functional independence. BELIEVE – Stroke Recovery Foundation is here to help!
Through generous grants, donations and sponsorships, BELIEVE – Stroke Recovery Foundation partners with local, vetted out-patient rehabilitation centers to provide additional physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT) and speech language pathology (SLP) and equipment to qualified stroke and brain injury survivors whose insurance coverage has run out and who would benefit from continued therapy.
The result is a survivor who receives PT, OT or SLP that he/she needs, without facing the financial burden of additional rehabilitation sessions. Let us help you on your journey to recovery! Click here to take a closer look at what the Foundation is all about (video) .
