Emergency Medical Services Emergency Communication Centers Military Veterans Transitioning into Civilian Life Helping Those Who Help Others “CARES UP helps support the men and women who serve and protect us every day, and help inform the public about the increased risks, challenges, and behavioral health issues our first responders and Veterans face.
” – Dr. Ann Sullivan, Commissioner, New York State Office of Mental Health CARES UP is an initiative launched by the New York State Office of Mental Health’s Suicide Prevention Center (OMH’s SPCNY) that focuses on improving the mental health and wellness of uniformed personnel and veterans.
This is accomplished by enhancing uniformed personnel organizations’ wellness and health models, programs, and policy through a foundational framework called CARES UP.
