Center for Warriors Foundation proudly serves veterans in the Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota region. The Center for Warriors is a faith-based organization dedicated to restoring hope and purpose for warriors and their families through a holistic network of support for those affected by PTSD and military service.
The Center for Warriors concept was conceived in 2006 after learning that the needs of our veterans are not being adequately addressed by the wellness services currently available to them. In 2018 when we became aware of the suicide rate among veterans*, our design transitioned to what it is today.
Our vision is to heal the veteran and their entire family through a holistic approach by completely restructuring their lives, including a new career, so that the entire family can live a complete and full life with a very bright future. The Center for Warriors in Old Town project in Montana is being designed and built as a prototype.
We expect to replicate this facility into at least 18 communities across the nation for convenient access to all veterans needing help. *Studies reflect 22-23 veteran suicides every day. In October 2022, the VA reports that number has gone down to just over 16 a day, but reports surfaced in Military Times and Web MD stating that the number has in fact increased to at least 44 veteran suicides daily.
They reference studies done by American Warriors Partnership (AWP), Duke University and the University of Alabama. Other studies published by Massachusetts General Hospital, Redsocks Foundation Program and Retired US Army Brigadier General Jack Hammond serving as the executive director for Home Base, also confirm that the number has indeed risen to 44 veteran suicides per day.
