CFDA | Genesis House AAPI Design + Innovation Grant - CFDA CFDA | Genesis House AAPI Design + Innovation Grant The 2024 designer participants Kozaburo Akasaka, Olivia Cheng, Bach Mai in Seoul, South Korea. Since 2023, the CFDA and Genesis House have partnered to support emerging AAPI fashion designers through the CFDA | GENESIS HOUSE AAPI Design + Innovation Grant.
The program continues to spotlight the incredible AAPI fashion talent, celebrating heritage and modernity, while providing a platform for designers to redefine fashion’s future through innovation. Three emerging AAPI designers will receive education and mentorship from leading experts in fashion, business, technology, and innovation.
Design Challenge & Grant Funding The three selected designers will receive a $40,000 grant to create a three-look collection that explores innovation while reflecting their Asian heritage and modernity, in alignment with Genesis’ brand pillars. In February 2026, designers will present their collections to a selection committee, where one winner will receive an additional $60,000 grand prize.
Collections will be displayed at Genesis House through March 2026. Designers will embark on a one-week immersion trip to South Korea in October 2025 to gain inspiration for their design challenge collection. This experience will provide first hand exposure to cultural heritage and cutting-edge innovation, with transportation, meals, and accommodations fully covered by Genesis.
