CFDA x NY Forward Grant Fund - CFDA CFDA x NY Forward Grant Fund The CFDA x NY Forward Grant Fund is a grant program developed by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)in partnership with New York State’s Department of State and its NY Forward initiative. The program is designed to drive innovation, strengthen local production, and ensure the Garment District remains a vital hub for the fashion industry.
The grant fund provides partially matching support of up to two-thirds (⅔) of eligible costs for new machinery and directly related expenses limited to machinery-tied capital improvements, required associated software, and training.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must lease or own production space within the Garment District Strategic Investment Area (with at least three years remaining on the lease at the time of award), be a registered business generating revenue for at least two years, and have under $10M in annual net revenue.
Eligible businesses include contract manufacturers of fashion products, manufacturers of innovative fabrics or materials, or brands with small-batch in-house production. Certified minority- and women-owned businesses that meet these criteria are encouraged to apply.
Garment District Strategic Investment Area Eligible businesses must lease or own production space within the Garment District Strategic Investment Area, from 34th to 42nd Street and 5th to 9th Avenue, excluding Bryant Park. The application deadline has been extended from March 3, 2026 at 5:00 PM ET to March 24, 2026 at 5:00 PM ET.
