Green Streets, Green Jobs, Green Towns - Chesapeake Bay Trust Green Streets, Green Jobs, Green Towns (G3) The Chesapeake Bay Green Streets, Green Jobs, Green Towns (G3) Grant Program is funded by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region III, West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, and the Chesapeake Bay Trust.
This grant program supports design and implementation of green streets, community greening, and urban tree canopy projects that enhance livability in cities and communities, in addition to white papers that address these topics.
The goal of this grant program is to help communities develop and implement plans that reduce stormwater runoff, increase the number and amount of green spaces in urban areas, improve the health of local waters and the Chesapeake Bay, and enhance quality of life and community livability.
This program is a key component of EPA’s Green Streets, Green Jobs, Green Towns (G3) Partnership , which promotes sustainable community greening and stormwater management solutions. What this funds : This program can support projects within the Chesapeake Bay watershed portion of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Washington D. C.
, West Virginia, Virginia, and (new to this year!) New York. Use the map below or use this map from the Chesapeake Bay Foundation of the Chesapeake Bay watershed boundary to determine if your project location is eligible, or contact us for assistance.

Click the button below to download the spreadsheet. Download the G3 Implementation Project Calculator Spreadsheet (Excel .
xlsx) Pollutant Load Reduction Calculator: The Green Stormwater Infrastructure Simple Pollutant Load Reduction Estimator (Green SIMPLE) was developed to help Chesapeake Bay communities more easily and consistently estimate the water quality benefits of proposed stormwater retrofit and community greening projects.
The tool is an easy-to-use spreadsheet that is consistent with the pollutant loading rates and load reduction efficiencies used in the Chesapeake Bay Model. It allows users to estimate pollutant load reductions from individual projects as well as to compare a suite of candidate projects based on factors such as cost-effectiveness, pollutant load reduction, maintenance burden, and constructability.
Download the Pollutant Load Reduction Calculator 1. Is this grant only for urban projects or could projects in small towns and/or rural areas qualify? The G3 Grant Program is not limited to urban projects; it is also available to small towns and rural areas within the Chesapeake Bay watershed portions of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.
C. , West Virginia, Virginia and New York. 2.
Do all tracks have to do stormwater calculations? No, not all tracks require stormwater calculations. Specifically, Track 1 (Concept Plans), Track 5 (White Papers), and Track 6 (Charrettes/Technical Assistance) do not necessitate stormwater calculations.
3. Does track 6 result in concept plan? Yes, the objective of Track 6 is to facilitate charrettes or technical planning assistance that culminate in the development of a concept plan and/or an engineered design.
4. Can we only apply for one project and one track? Or multiple projects/tracks?
Yes, organizations are permitted to submit applications for multiple projects, with each project potentially falling under a different track. 5. Is $175,000 the absolute max for projects?
Also can you partner with state agencies on public lands? i. e Wvdnr on WMA.
Or is this specifically for local govs? The recommended funding limit per project is $175,000. However, applicants may request additional funding with strong justification.
We recommend speaking with Trust staff before submitting a request that exceeds the typical funding cap. Partnerships with state agencies on public lands may be eligible, provided the project aligns with the program’s goals and eligibility criteria. 6.
Do the funds apply just for planting or could it be sidewalks/bridges? The G3 Grant Program focuses on green infrastructure projects, which aim to reduce stormwater runoff and enhance environmental quality. Sidewalks and bridges are typically considered gray infrastructure and are not eligible for funding.
7. Due to new Executive Orders and other federal changes, the references to Justice40, climate change, and environmental justice are no longer applicable. As such, these items are not requested from applicants and will not be considered in the review criteria for funding recommendations for green infrastructure projects .

The objective of this study is to determine status of populations and distributions of Lesser Prairie-Chickens (LPC) in the Carlsbad Field Office (CFO) area. Also, determine the status on Habitat Evaluation Areas (HEA), document potential links between HEAs and, if needed, provide recommendations to expand HEAs into areas containing populations of LPCs. This data will allow development of recommendations regarding management of potential habitat near HEAs and at other sites in the CFO area. Funding Opportunity Number: L11AS00171.
