Interns gain experience providing music therapy services to adults and children in inpatient units across UCLA Health. Our music therapy supervisor works closely with the internship coordinator at your current university to develop an individualized experience for you. The part-time, 1,040-hour clinical internship involves: Assessment and feedback from a clinical supervisor Hands-on experience providing music therapy to your own patient panel Monthly team retreats focused on self-care Opportunities to delve into specialty areas, such as neurologic music therapy, neonatal music therapy and medical music therapy Personal and professional development exercises Weekly intensive group supervision experiences Our curriculum focuses on building self-awareness and self-care practices while gaining clinical intervention skills.
