The application submission deadline was May 23, 2025. The Colorado School Nurse Grant Program (SNGP) was created in 2019 (§ 25-1. 5-406 C.
R. S) to address the shortage of qualified school nurses by providing critical funding to increase access to school nurses in school districts and charter schools throughout Colorado. * § 25-1.

(website) The Colorado School Nurse Grant Program provides funding to eligible K-12 schools in Colorado to increase the availability of K-12 school nursing services in Colorado public schools. * Local school districts, boards of cooperative services, and charter schools are eligible to apply for up to five (5) years of funding to increase and maintain school nursing services.
* In awarding grants, the Department shall give preference to an applicant that is a small rural school district, rural school district, or local education provider eligible to receive money under Title I, Part A of the Federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, 20 U.S.C. sec. 6301 et seq.

(mp4) ### Colorado School Nurse Grant Program recipients ## Current Colorado School Nurse Grant Program recipients The Colorado School Nurse Grant Program increases K-12 school nursing services through the recruitment and retention of qualified school nurses.
Since its launch in 2020, all available funding under the original Request for Applications RFA 30109 has been dispersed to the following eleven current recipients of the Colorado School Nurse Grant Program: * Alamosa School District * La Veta School District * Moffat #2 Consolidated School District * Mountain Valley School District * Sargent School District * Upper Rio Grande School District ## Expanded Colorado School Nurse Grant Program In 2022, the Colorado General Assembly passed Senate Bill 22-226, expanding the current School Nurse Grant Program.
The program expansion provides funding to increase access to school nursing professions through the recruitment and retention of qualified school nurses by providing annual grant awards to eligible applicants. At this time, all of the funding has been awarded, and there are no plans to re-open the RFA for additional application rounds.
