ComEd Small and Medium Business Relief Fund The SMB Customer Relief Fund is a one time financial assistance program designed to help eligible small and medium-sized business customers reduce past-due electric bill balances and remain connected. Approved customers receive an approved matching credit of up to $500 , applied directly to their ComEd account.
Eligible applicants must: Have an active ComEd commercial account at the time of application Operate a qualifying small or medium-sized business (commercial meter) Have no unpaid tampering fees Not be in bankruptcy at the time of application Apply for one account per business (Tax ID used to validate) If there are multiple locations must only apply for 1 account The following businesses are not eligible : Residential accounts/NFP accounts A Customer relief fund was delivered in 2025 for residential/NFP customers.
Businesses with unpaid tampering fees Accounts currently in bankruptcy Received Customer Relief Fund assistance in 2025 How much assistance is available? Eligible customers may receive an approved matching credit of up to $500 .
Customers make payments toward their past-due balance first If payment is not processed within 7 days of approved application – customer will not receive match ComEd matches the approved payment amount, up to $500 If the past-due balance exceeds $500, the customer remains responsible for the remaining amount Customers may apply for up to 50% of their past-due balance, capped at $500; any application exceeding this amount will be rejected.
