Community Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Grant Program Accessibility Information Community Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Grant Program Notice of Intent for Fiscal Year 2027 : The Maryland Energy Administration is pleased to announce the intent to award grants on a competitive basis to increase access to affordable and reliable electric vehicle (EV) charging networks and reduce transportation greenhouse gas emissions throughout Maryland, and especially in overburdened communities.
MEA expects to begin accepting applications in Autumn 2026. Further updates will be posted on this webpage. Final program parameters and application instructions will be included in the FY27 Funding Opportunity Announcemen t (FOA).
Program Description: The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) is pleased to announce the Community Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Grant Program (Community EVSE Program or the Program) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2026.
The purpose of the Program is to increase access to affordable and reliable electric vehicle (EV) charging networks and reduce transportation greenhouse gas emissions throughout Maryland, and especially in overburdened communities.
The program stems from Governor Moore’s $90 million downpayment towards advancing the State’s Climate Plan in a just and equitable manner, including a $23 million investment in electric vehicle charging infrastructure over 2 years. The Program has two Areas of Interest (AOI). Eligible applicants may apply to one area of interest or both areas of interest.
1: EV Infrastructure Planning Funds are provided to help local governments offset feasibility and planning study costs for future EVSE development. Feasibility studies should help applicants conceptualize the EVSE and associated infrastructure to make informed decisions on mobilizing project sites for construction. Open to Applications.

Funds are provided to help applicants offset costs of EVSE installations for Level 2 or Level 3 (including Direct Current Fast Charging systems) equipment for EVs. Open to Applications.

Program Type: Competitive, State-wide Application Deadline: February 27, 2026 at 3:00PM EST Program Funding: MEA anticipates a total of $10 million to be available for the Program in FY 2026.
The total amount awarded may be more or less depending on the availability of funds and the number and quality of applications received.

These reports provide regular project updates and serve as the mechanism for submitting reimbursement requests. Grantees must complete and submit reports using the JotForm Quarterly Progress Report Form for the FY25 Community EVSE Program .
