Dick Salgado, Vice President Diana Middleton, Secretary Serving needs in largely rural Douglas County Ava-based affiliate has distributed more than $464,177 since its inception in 2003 Douglas County Community Foundation awards Coover Regional Recovery Grants May 20, 2021 — The Douglas County Community Foundation has awarded total grants of $10,000 to six nonprofit agencies for recovery needs related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The grants are made possible by the Louis L. and Julia Dorothy Coover Charitable Foundation, managed by Commerce Trust Company in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. The Douglas County Community Foundation is one of 30 CFO affiliate foundations to receive Coover grant funding this year and chose to use its award to hold a community recovery grant round for eligible nonprofits.
The Douglas County Community Foundation awarded its Coover Regional Recovery Grants to: Ava Area Animal Welfare League, Jr.: $2,000 for operational support Ava Citizens Action League: $2,000 for operational support Douglas County Community Health Assistance Resources Team: $1,000 for operational support of the Ava Area Chamber of Commerce; and $2,000 for operation support of Discover the Ozarks Heart of the Hills Food Harvest: $1,000 for operational support Options Pregnancy Center of Ava: $1,000 for operational support Pioneer Heritage Festival of the Ozarks Inc.: $1,000 for operational support “One of the benefits of the CFO’s affiliate network is the ability of local leaders to make decisions in the best interests of their own communities,” said Jill Reynolds, senior vice president at Commerce Trust.
