The Opioid Abatement Council is required by law to "disburse the remaining sixty-five percent (65%) of such proceeds for statewide, regional, or local opioid abatement and remediation purposes pursuant to §33-11-105" from the opioid abatement fund. T. C.

Information for Community Grants Cycle 3 including the Announcement of Funding, schedule of events, and including information for submitting an application is now posted on the Community Grants Cycle 3 page . Community Grants are awarded to Tennessee-based agencies who apply for opioid settlement funding during the open procurement. Community Grants must be directed to projects which address Tennessee’s opioid epidemic.
Funds must be used to deliver services to individuals and communities in Tennessee which focus on Primary Prevention, Harm Reduction, Treatment, Recovery Support, Education/ Training or Research or Evaluation of Abatement Strategy Efficacy. The Opioid Abatement Council Community Grants will be disbursed via invoicing on incurred costs from the Grantee. The Grantee may invoice the Opioid Abatement Council monthly or quarterly.
Any selected Grantee will be subject to fiscal and program monitoring which will be performed by the Opioid Abatement Council Office. The OAC Community Grants are awarded in Cycles. Please see the Cycle pages within the Community Funding section for information specific to each Cycle.
