To further demonstrate our belief in good corporate citizenship, Baltimore Life has established a community grants program to help nonprofit organizations enhance the quality of life in communities—Delaware, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington, D. C. , West Virginia, and the surrounding communities—where our employees live and work.
To be eligible for a $500 grant, your organization must meet IRS eligibility requirements under IRC Section 501(c)(3)1. Acceptable organizations also include libraries, senior centers, homeless shelters, or other organizations under the direction of governmental agencies. Projects and programs that help distressed families, enhance public safety and the community, and combat community deterioration receive special consideration.
Religious organizations are not eligible, except when a religious organization houses a nondenominational charity such as a soup kitchen or homeless shelter. The Homeless Youth Program is a grant from the Illinois Department of Human Services that funds services for homeless and at-risk youth across Illinois.
