Our signature initiative is the Best Buy Teen Tech Center® program, a network of creative, youth-centered community hubs where teens can engage with the latest technology, learn real-world career skills, and interact with safe and supportive mentors. We support nonprofit community-based organizations around the country that align with our mission to connect teens with tech and tech training and foster creative youth expression.
We channel specific funds to organizations that contribute to the vibrancy of our hometown communities in Minneapolis-St. Paul and Seattle. 65 Best Buy Teen Tech Center® locations open around the country.
Preparing teens for tomorrow 96% of Teen Tech Center youth are more optimistic about their future because of the program. 95% of Teen Tech Center youth believe they have the valuable tech skills they need to be successful and 76% say they have an increased interest in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics careers. 81% of youth say they visit their local Teen Tech Center at least once a week.
Foundation grants have supported 1 million young people over the past decade. More than 200 Twin Cities nonprofits have received Foundation grants over the past 10 years. * Results are based on surveys conducted in 2022 with a subset of over 500 Teen Tech Center participants from across the country.

The Robotics Grant Program is a grant from the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) that funds school-based robotics programs for elementary, middle, and high school students. Awarded through a competitive application process, the program provides up to $3,500 to eligible local education agencies (LEAs) in Alabama. Applicants must be public school systems submitting on behalf of schools with K–12 students. The grant supports the purchase of robotics equipment and program development aligned with AMSTI guidelines. Applications are submitted online through the AMSTI Robotics Grant portal. The Fiscal Year 2026 application deadline was September 30, 2025. Questions should be directed to robotics@amsti.org. The program is managed by the Alabama State Department of Education under State Superintendent Eric G. Mackey.
