160-1-4-. 293 - Computer Science Teacher Credential Grant Purpose of Grant. The purpose of the Computer Science Teacher Credential Grant is to support broadening participation in K-12 Computer Science (CS) education and to assist in the implementation of O.

§ 20-2-149. 3 by providing funding for teacher professional development and training, teacher certifications, and teacher endorsements for middle and high school CS teachers. Term and Conditions.
Grants are awarded through a competitive process to local educational agencies (LEA), a consortia of LEAs, local charter schools, state charter schools, and eligible partnerships between an LEA and an approved high-quality professional learning provider. The applicants must have a systemic computer science implementation plan with specific professional learning goals for teachers within the system.
Awardees must agree to make their trained teachers available to train other teachers within the LEA in which the teacher is employed following implementation of grant activities. Awardees will also produce a report at the conclusion of the grant period. Eligible Recipient(s).
Eligible recipients include LEAs, a consortia of LEAs, local charter schools, state charter schools, and partnerships between an LEA and an approved high-quality professional learning Award. Grant applications will be reviewed and scored by the Georgia Department of Education. Funding will be awarded based on rank (highest score first) and availability of grant funds.
