Connecting Europe Facility - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency Connecting Europe Facility The Connecting Europe Facility The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) supports the development of high performing, sustainable and efficiently interconnected trans-European networks in the fields of transport, energy and digital services.
It is a key EU funding instrument in delivering the green transition and an important enabler towards the Union’s decarbonisation objectives for 2030 and 2050. CEF benefits people across all Member States: it makes travel easier and more sustainable, enhances Europe’s energy security while enabling wider use of renewables, and facilitates cross-border interaction between public administrations, businesses and citizens.
CEF provides funding in the forms of grants and procurement and contributes to attracting private investments. CEF Transport is the EU funding instrument to realise European transport infrastructure policy. It supports investments in building new transport infrastructure in Europe or rehabilitating and upgrading existing ones.
CEF Energy is the EU funding programme to implement the trans-European networks for energy policy. It supports investments in building new cross-border energy infrastructure in Europe or rehabilitating and upgrading existing ones. CEF Digital supports investments in digital connectivity infrastructures of common European interest.
This part is managed by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA).
