The CSUBIOTECH team administers competitive grant and award programs that are open to California State University faculty and students. Here you can review open program calls for both students and faculty. Biotechnology is defined here as a fusion of biology and technology.
“Modern biotechnology provides breakthrough products and technologies to combat debilitating and rare diseases, reduce our environmental footprint, feed the hungry, use less and cleaner energy, and have safer, cleaner and more efficient industrial manufacturing processes,” according to the Biotechnology Innovation Organization.
In addition, the world’s largest biotech trade association lists biotechnology examples, applications and sectors. CSUBIOTECH adds health IT and medical device research and development to these examples.
Students and faculty in all disciplines related to biotechnology— including but not limited to life sciences, physical sciences, clinical sciences, math, computer science, agricultural science, engineering and/or business—are welcomed and encouraged to apply. Program request for proposals (RFPs) are updated for each new round of funding. Make sure you are working with the current version before you craft your proposal.
For programs that are not accepting proposals, RFPs and proposal templates from the prior round of funding are provided as examples and could be helpful to you when they reopen.
