IT is a cash grant offered by Industrial Development Agency (IDA) for the digital transformation of SMEs, which results in the introduction of product, process or organizational innovations at least at the enterprise level.
The cash grant can be used, among others, for the purchase or creation of modern digital technologies, IT equipment or employee training. The maximum value of the cash grant is PLN 850,000 and the minimum amount that an entrepreneur can apply for is PLN 150,000. The level of co-financing is up to 50% of eligible costs, and the payment of IDA cash grant will be in the form of a refund.
Digital transformation is one of the key directions of development of companies, which is why it is so important to implement these solutions for this purpose. The Dig. IT in Poland program is to help SME companies in this respect , which, thanks to subsidies, can strengthen their competitiveness on the market.
Implementing digital transformation also allows for reducing the costs of business activities, including by increasing productivity or reducing energy consumption. Eligible entities are micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as defined in Annex I to Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 .
In addition, the potential applicant must meet the following requirements: is an industrial processor (performs physical or chemical processing of raw materials/semi-finished products into a new product using its own resources or as a subcontractor for another entity ) or offers production services (repair/renovation/maintenance services provided to third parties or services involving the performance of a technical procedure on an item supplied by the manufacturer, e.g. plastic processing, grinding, etc.), has closed at least 5 full financial years, the value of the requested cash grant under Dig.
IT is a maximum of 30% of the average annual value of net sales revenues in the last 3 closed financial years preceding the year of submitting the application is not in difficulty within the meaning of EU state aid rules, minimis aid limit available . The digital transformation that is the subject of the project with a cash grant must concern: production process or production services, or processes that directly support them, including: preparation for production or production services (including design, engineering and related technical testing, analysis and certification), storage of your own products or materials, internal transport, i.e. supplying the production line, collection of finished products from production, quality control of manufactured products or production services, securing the IT infrastructure used in the production process or production support, selling your own product or service.
Within the above-mentioned production processes, production services or processes directly supporting digital transformation, the cash grant may be allocated to areas such as: Process automation and business analytics E-comerce and customer contact Management of enterprise resources using IT tools What is the definition of digital technology under the Dig. The implementation of digital transformation primarily concerns the deployment of digital technology, which for the purposes of the Dig.
IT program is defined as: Software assets in the form of intangible assets (as defined by the Accounting Act), used for the implementation or optimization of business operations such as: Production and logistics processes Financial, organizational, and administrative processes Sales and customer relations Cybersecurity and resource management a) Purchased as a long-term or perpetual software license, or Digital technology may consist of several elements, including more than one intangible asset or software accessed on a service or public basis, provided it is justified by the project goal.
An entrepreneur may purchase more than one digital technology within a single project. What costs can be financed by the cash grant for digital transformation from the Dig. IT in Poland?
The following cost categories will be eligible for funding from the cash grant for digital transformation under the Dig. IT programme: The cash grant under Dig. IT in Poland allows for financing the costs of purchasing so-called intangible assets in the form of ready-made software along with implementation.
Software may be purchased as a long-term license for services such as SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), or CSaaS (Cyber Security as a Service), provided it meets all conditions to be recognized as an intangible asset according to the Accounting Act. The cash grant under Dig.
IT in Poland can finance the commissioning of individual programming work to produce digital technologies and implement them. The purchase of necessary fixed assets is also possible under the Dig. IT program, including servers, routers, switches, rack cabinets.
As part of the project with the cash grant under Dig. IT in Poland, employees will be able to participate in training related to the use of digital technologies purchased by a company. The purchase of materials, consumables and similar products (other than fixed assets) may also be included in the project with the cash grant under Dig.
IT in Poland. Which expenses are ineligible under the Dig. IT cash grant?
The cash grant under Dig. IT programme cannot be used to finance, among others: Standard office software: Spreadsheets, office suites, operating systems, and software without development support.
Untrusted providers: Applications or data centers from untrusted vendors; services without a guaranteed level of data availability (SLA); providers with undefined identities or unclear liability regarding data loss, ownership, and disaster recovery.
Unethical solutions: Programs exploiting brain vulnerabilities, biometric identification in public spaces, social credit systems, or facial recognition databases based on mass scraping; programs posing a threat to health, safety, or fundamental rights. Basic security tools: Antivirus systems, firewalls, password aggregators, and managers.
Universal fixed assets: Furniture, personal computers, printers, smartphones, means of transport, real estate, and infrastructure. Internal training: Training services provided by the entrepreneur’s own employees or related entities. What areas of digital transformation are eligible for funding in the Dig.
