Disaster Relief Mini Grants – Nebraska Museums Association NMA Conference and Annual Meeting The Nebraska Museums Association began raising money for a natural disaster relief fund after the devastating floods in 2019. NMA continues to the mission assist our members with financial relief to unexpected natural disasters.
A limited number of grants up to $500 each are available to NMA members to assist with payment for supplies, equipment, services, etc. needed in response to disaster damage. NMA’s grant committee will evaluate grant applications and NMA board of directors will award funding to qualified NMA members based on order received, nature of damage, and perceived need and impact of funding.
Grant requests are accepted from qualified nonprofit NMA members. Grants to organizations that discriminate based on race, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, creed or ethnic group are not considered. Congratulations to Cedar County Historical Society!
They received our first $500 Disaster Relief Mini Grant. The funds will be used to replace an original six-panel, exterior door damaged in the “drencho” storm that went through Harrington, Nebraska on May 13, 2022. According to Julia Meirose, Chairperson of the Board for Cedar County Historical Society, the grant could not have come at a better time, and they are grateful beyond words.
