Environmental Funds | York County Community Foundation - York, PA Environmental Funds At York County Community Foundation For Grant Seekers » Grant Programs » Environmental Funds The Codorus Watershed Fund works to develop strategic direction and action plans to build on the work of existing watershed improvement programs.

By leveraging new public and private investments, this fund seeks to improve the health and vitality of the Codorus and its environs. Watershed Improvement: Grants of up to $15,000 will be awarded for pre-construction costs, such as design, permitting, engineering, and other technical assistance-oriented activities.

Engagement and Education: Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded for projects that enhance the local capacity to implement present and future on-the-ground actions by supporting community-based assessments, planning, educational experience, workshops, and recreation. Larger Requests: Grant requests that are larger than $15,000 will be entertained by the committee on a rolling basis. Grant request must be related to our fund priorities.

All projects must have a focus on decreasing pollution (and increase water quality) and/or an increase in recreational/educational activities. Agriculture and Land Preservation Established with the Robert R. Anderson Family Fund.

This also includes the Kristen E. Baylor Memorial and Early and Margaret Brown Family funds. The Agriculture and Land Preservation Fund supports education, study, and research in agriculture to improve farms, farming and land preservation in York County.

Land Preservation: Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded for projects that enhance restore/establish wildlife habitat, maintain, or improve grassland productivity, reduce soil erosion, increase control of critical invasive species, enhance critical threatened and endangered plant and animal species services survival.

Education and Implementation: Grants of up to $10,000 awarded for projects that enhance education, study and research in agriculture that will improve farms and farming in York County, provide technical assistance to further farm productivity. Larger Requests: Grant requests that are larger than $10,000 will be entertained by the committee on a rolling basis. Grant request must be related to our fund priorities.

Number of acres of preserved lands and/or number of farmers/farms served/reached. Established with the Charles G. Eyster Family Fund.

The Sustainable Energy Fund provides education and technical assistance to help nonprofit organizations and municipal entities conserve energy and reduce operating costs. The fund is currently exploring large-scale demonstration projects to transform the way York Countians think about energy conservation. Environmental Funds 2024 Grant Cycle: Applications to YCCF’s Environmental Funds will be accepted on a rolling basis in 2024.

The grant cycle will open on January 8, 2024, and remain open until the end of the year. Program start date must not be before January 8, 2024.
