Josh Provides - Epilepsy Assistance Foundation (800) 706-2740 DONATE TODAY History, Mission and Vision Medical Services and Transportation and Travel Seizure Alert & Detection Devices EAA Seizure Alert Training The mission of JoshProvides is to improve the quality of life for those living with epilepsy or other seizure disorders. In addition, Josh Provides strives to eliminate the stigma and social isolation associated with epilepsy.

Individuals and families living with epilepsy or other seizure disorders often feel socially isolated due to the stigma associated with this neurological disorder.
The support group provides a community connection for individuals, families, and caregivers and features resources, speakers and an opportunity to share their experiences, ask questions and offer each other emotional comfort. JoshProvides holds a virtual Epilepsy Support Group via Zoom on the first and third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm Eastern Time. For more information, call 800-706-2740 or email Info@JoshProvides.

JoshProvides has speakers who are available to make presentations at schools, churches, clubs & associations as well as at the workplace to dispel the myths of Epilepsy and share information about caring for someone if a seizure should occur. Medical Services and Transportation and Travel JoshProvides offers Medical Services and Transportation and Travel grants for diagnostic testing, specific safety items, and transportation & travel for diagnostic testing. These grants must be used within a three-month period from the date of the grant award.
These grants are date specific and must be indicated on Appendix D by your neurologist. Diagnostic testing must be scheduled at least three weeks from the application submission date. All payments are made directly to the physician, facility or vendor.
Patient/Applicant may only submit one Medical Services and Transportation and Travel Application once in a twelve-month period. Funding is not available for medication or prior services and outstanding balances. org . Seizure Alert & Detection Devices There are over 40 different types of seizures. Seizure alert & detection devices can assist in detecting when a tonic-clonic (grand mal) seizure is occurring and will issue an alert to parents, friends, or caregivers.

Seizure response dogs can be wonderful service dogs for people living with epilepsy.
If properly trained, dogs can alert an individual when a seizure is occurring, lay between the floor and the person having a seizure to protect them from injury, get help and signal their owner to get into a safe position before the seizure occurs. The process of securing a seizure response dog is both long and expensive and families must do due diligence in selecting a breeder and trainer.
