Grant and sponsorship opportunities To support our communities and make a positive difference in the lives of our customers, the Eversource Energy Foundation provides sponsorships and grants for events and programs to organizations within our service territory . In 2025, the Foundation contributed a total of $7. 2 million to charitable organizations in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Based in our service territory A U.S.-based nonprofit organization with IRS-designated 501(c)(3) status Funding requests must align with at least one Eversource Foundation core focus area: Community wellness and basic needs Education (STEM initiatives preferred) Environmental stewardship Community awareness and engagement Economic and workforce development The Eversource Foundation does not fund: Youth robotics teams ( explore how we support robotics ) Personnel costs for specific positions Utility upgrades or energy-efficiency projects (view our energy-efficiency programs ) Utility bill assistance (learn about our bill help programs ) Walks and races (outside of our signature events ) Personal expenses (e.g., events, conferences, travel) Individual or personal fundraising efforts Debt reduction or elimination Private foundations or endowments Fraternal or political organizations The Foundation provides limited funding for: Intermediary organizations School parent-teacher organizations and school-based fundraising events United Ways (They are one of signature partners.)
Athletic teams or sports organizations Additional considerations There is a limit of one donation per organization in a calendar year. Funding requests for a program or event must be submitted at least 90 days in advance.
The Foundation would not knowingly contribute to an organization that discriminates on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, marital status, sexual orientation, genetic information or any other status or condition protected by local, state or federal law. Typical grants are between $1,000 and $10,000, and do not automatically renew.
Organizations must reapply each year. Grant requests are reviewed on a rolling basis. Review time can take eight to 12 weeks.
