### Eligibility Criteria: * Submission of a completed application by the Chief Administrative Officer, or their designee. * Proposed budget detailing how grant funds will be used to purchase fire equipment or gear for firefighters that are on-call, part-time, or volunteer. Through a competitive grant process, Grant awards of up to $50,000 may be issued to each eligible local unit of government.
Awards are contingent on available funding and may be lower than requested. Applications must be submitted to the Michigan Department of Treasury via eSignature Solution no later than June 19, 2026. ### FY 2026 Appropriation Amount Available: As a one-time appropriation, the Michigan Department of Treasury was appropriated $8 million to award fire equipment and fire gear grants to qualified local units of governments.
