The DoW has just issued their new FY-2026 Release 1 SBIR and STTR solicitations which are now in Pre-Release. Awards under this Open Topic will use Other Transaction (OT) agreements to accelerate prototyping and transition. The pre-release period is through 5 May and allows for direct communication between small businesses and Technical Points of Contact (TPOCs) to answer technical questions about the topics. The solicitations open to proposal submission on 6 May and close 3 June at 12:00 p.
m. EDT. A Topic Q&A page, available on the Defense SBIR/STTR Innovation Portal (DSIP), allows firms to post technical questions publicly for TPOC response.
