These grants support nonprofits focused on the behavioral health and human service needs of children, young adults, and families in Bucks County, Pa. The Board of Directors started targeted funding grants several years ago focused on autism and homelessness before starting to offer unrestricted operating support in 2021.
“These grants are designed to help nonprofits address pressing needs, support entrepreneurial thinking, and increase flexibility,” said Tracy Pasternak Willis , FCP Board Chair. “Collectively, these organizations serve 61,221 Bucks County residents through their programs and services.
” FCP awarded General Operating Support Grants to: Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic ($25,000): to decrease the wait list accessing the clinic’s dental program, increasing telehealth options, hire a part-time social worker to address the social determinants of health, and further increase its reach and impact in the community.
BARC Developmental Services ($15,000): to support the young adults with intellectual abilities and autism employed through its Vocational Services Department. The Council of Southeast Pennsylvania ($15,000): to enhance the measurement and evaluation of social determinants of health that have been impacted by addiction and invest in needed technology upgrades.
YMCA of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties ($25,000): to further mental health components that are integrated into its Bucks County pathway, childcare, and summer camp programs that will benefit all including those who reside in economically and ethnically diverse communities.

The SCI Youth Grant Pitch Contest is a competitive program from Social Capital Inc. that funds youth-led community improvement projects in Greater Boston. Teams of high school students in grades 9 through 12 residing in Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, or Suffolk counties develop project ideas through coaching from local professionals, then pitch their proposals to a live panel of judges. Improving Veteran Mental Health Grant Program is a grant from The Cigna Group Foundation that funds nonprofits providing housing stability and wraparound support services to improve the mental health of military veterans. The Foundation committed $9 million over three years addressing housing instability and its mental health impacts, as an estimated 40,000 veterans go without shelter nightly and 1.5 million are at risk of homelessness. Funded programs include mortgage and rental assistance, employment re-entry training, and housing development for veterans.
