The rest are deterred in large part by the hefty price tag: It’s common for one hearing aid to cost several thousand dollars.
The Georgia Hearing Aid Dispatch, in partnership with the Georgia Public Service Commission, removes the financial barrier to care for low-income Georgia residents and provides hearing aids at dramatically reduced costs.
Download the 2025 Impact Statement In 2022, the Georgia Public Service Commission unanimously awarded the Georgia Charitable Care Network the contract to serve as the new administrator of the Georgia Hearing Aid Distribution Program . The program, funded by the Public Service Commission, provides hearing aids to low-income Georgia residents.
GCCN coordinates the care referrals between the patients, audiologists and hearing aid manufacturers. While this program’s funding is primarily supported by the Public Service Commission, the hearing aid package is not free. You will have a copayment. Due to the demand for services, the current estimated time to process your application is 6-7 weeks.
If you are unable or unwilling to provide the requested documentation, your application will not be approved. If complete documentation is not received within 3 months of initial submission, your application will be considered abandoned, and you will have to begin the application process over.
