The broader the support, the bigger the match! Verify your project aligns with domain requirements. OSS projects need open-source licenses and Ethereum infrastructure focus.
Interop projects must advance Open Intents Framework or interoperability standards. Review specific criteria on the domain announcement pages. 0 model — not just Quadratic Funding, but a plural, network-first approach that makes Ethereum’s coordination engine more resilient and aligned with community values. What is the difference between a Domain and round? There are 6 funding "categories" within GG24, i.e. Domains.
Each domain has sub rounds within them that you can directly participate in. Each domain may use a different platform and approach. Refer to the details on each domain for more information.
What is different about GG24 compared to previous Gitcoin rounds? GG24 employs a "Domain Allocator" model, where funding is concentrated on specific problem areas defined through Sensemaking , rather than categories directly defined by Gitcoin. Each domain may use different funding mechanisms (not just QF), and rounds run on multiple platforms, including Giveth rather than Gitcoin's own infrastructure.
The rounds are scheduled to run from mid-October into early November, though specific dates may vary by domain. Please refer to the details on each domain for more information. Each domain may use a different platform and approach.
Refer to the details on each domain for more information. What if my project doesn't fit into one of the selected domains? Unfortunately, if your project doesn't align with the selected domains, you cannot participate in GG24.
The categories have changed from previous rounds; please refer to the individual round eligibility for more details. How do I know which funding mechanism my domain uses? Each domain operator designs their own mechanism - it could be QF, retroactive funding, direct grants, or a hybrid.
Check the specific domain for details about their approach and what that means for applications. Do I need different application formats for different mechanisms? es.
QF applications should emphasize community value and potential for broad support. Retroactive funding requires proven impact metrics. Direct grants need detailed proposals.
Prepare accordingly based on your domain's mechanism. Who decides which domains get funded? Community members submit problem analyses, Gitcoin synthesizes these into domains, then GTC token holders vote on which to fund.
Gitcoin works with coaltiional funders to create a match on match funding for each domain. What happened to climate, DeSci, and other previous round categories? Previous thematic rounds are replaced by problem-focused domains.
If climate or DeSci isn't selected as a domain, those projects cannot participate in GG24 unless they fit another selected domain. How is success measured differently in GG24? Focus shifts from participation metrics (number of projects, donors) to impact metrics specific to each domain's problem area.
Expect a detailed retrospective analysis in November or December 2025. The home of funding on Ethereum Gitcoin is transforming it's funding approach to better support the Ethereum ecosystem. We're building in the open and growing our community of voices to shape the future of onchain funding.
