The Foundation offers grants to nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations in the four counties of Southern Oregon: Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, and Curry.
Grants are awarded in line with the foundation's mission of investing in youth, individuals, families, and communities in Southern Oregon. The applicant must confirm that the organization is recognized as tax-exempt by the Internal Revenue Service before submitting an application. Grants are not given to individuals.
The foundation’s grantmaking process begins with an initial grant inquiry, designed to gather essential information about your organization and the community you serve. This step enables us to better understand how your work aligns with our mission to support Southern Oregon’s youth, individuals, families, and communities.
The foundation’s grants committee will review applications from eligible organizations that have discussed their funding requests with the Foundation’s Executive Director, Angela Durant, before submitting an application. These conversations help ensure alignment, clarify expectations, and support a thoughtful and efficient grantmaking process.
After submitting a grant inquiry, you will receive an email with a link to schedule a conversation with Angela. These discussions further clarify your project goals. Information collected in the grant inquiry form is carried over to the application to simplify the next steps.
As a small, relationship-focused foundation, we value opportunities to connect with partners. Recognizing that time is valuable for both applicants and the foundation, we use the grant inquiry to steward our collective time and resources while building meaningful partnerships. Organizations whose work aligns with the foundation’s mission, values, and geographic focus may be invited to submit a grant application.
According to the foundation’s funding agreement, grantees must submit a six-month interim report and a final report after completing the program or project, usually within one year. If funds are unspent or the program/project isn’t finished within that year, grantees can request an extension.
