Grand Love understands the unique challenges that come with this role—especially when living on a low fixed income. That’s why we offer Grand Assistance , our core support program designed specifically to help grandfamilies meet essential, everyday needs.
This program can help cover costs such as clothing, shoes, haircuts, dental expenses, winter coats , and other basic necessities that can quickly add up. Grand Assistance applications are open year-round , with no deadlines—so you can apply whenever your family needs support.
However, please note that some of our additional programs are seasonal and only available during specific times of the year (such as back-to-school or holiday support). Before applying to any of our other programs , families must first apply for and be approved for Grand Assistance.

The SCI Youth Grant Pitch Contest is a competitive program from Social Capital Inc. that funds youth-led community improvement projects in Greater Boston. Improving Veteran Mental Health Grant Program is a grant from The Cigna Group Foundation that funds nonprofits providing housing stability and wraparound support services to improve the mental health of military veterans. The Foundation committed $9 million over three years addressing housing instability and its mental health impacts, as an estimated 40,000 veterans go without shelter nightly and 1.5 million are at risk of homelessness. Funded programs include mortgage and rental assistance, employment re-entry training, and housing development for veterans.
