Texas workforce grants for business training programs Employers can seek TWC grant to help staff strengthen skills By Mella McEwen , Oil Editor April 16, 2026 A new grant is available for Texas businesses to help their staff members strengthen their skills. The Texas Workforce Commission is launching ASCEND — Advancing Skills, Capabilities and Expertise for New Development.
Article continues below this ad The grants will provide funding for businesses to train their existing workers, close critical skill gaps and ensure their teams are ready for the demands of a rapidly changing economy. Reimbursement for up to 80% of allowable training costs. Grant awards of up to $500,000 per employer.
Up to $4,000 per employee trained. Flexibility to design customized training programs that fit an employer’s specific needs. The program targets Texas industries facing significant workforce challenges.
