Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) Periodic update grants available for 2027 jurisdictions Counties and cities with a 2027 periodic update deadline are eligible to receive periodic update grants. Status: Closed for fiscal year 2026 Counties and cities planning under the Growth Management Act (GMA) are required to complete periodic updates to their comprehensive plans and/or development regulations as outlined in RCW 36. 70A.
130(5) . Periodic update grants provide funding to assist cities and counties in meeting these requirements. Counties and cities automatically become eligible for funding based on the due date of their periodic update.

wa. gov . Connecting Housing to Infrastructure Program The Connection Housing to Infrastructure Program (CHIP) funds utility connections for affordable housing.
By covering the upfront costs of infrastructure and connecting housing to municipal systems, the program helps bring more affordable housing units online. The application period for the current round of CHIP grants closed on Friday, Sept. 26.
Commerce is currently evaluating applications and intends to announce awards this winter Refer to the CHIP webpage for program guidelines and additional resources. Salmon recovery through local planning grant Commerce developed the Salmon Recovery through Local Planning grant program to support local governments and tribes working on salmon recovery and to further the Governor’s Salmon Recovery Strategy.
The funding provided through this program comes from the Climate Commitment Act and supports updates to comprehensive plans and development regulations focused on protecting ecosystems, improving water quality and improving vital salmon habitat. 5 million of statewide grants to support climate planning as required as part of the Growth Management Act (GMA) periodic update process. Climate planning grants are available to those jurisdictions across Washington required to include a climate change and resiliency element (RCW 36. 70A.
095) in their comprehensive plans during their periodic update. Jurisdictions with periodic update due dates from 2025-2029 are eligible to apply. Jurisdictions seeking information about their eligibility should contact GMSclimate@commerce.

Grants are available to assists jurisdictions in fully or partially updating their permit review process from paper filing systems to software systems capable of processing digital permit applications, virtual inspections, electronic review, and with capacity for video storage. The Homeless Youth Program is a grant from the Illinois Department of Human Services that funds services for homeless and at-risk youth across Illinois.
