11 EU-India co-funded calls under Horizon Europe - 1 call still open! | EURAXESS 11 EU-India co-funded calls under Horizon Europe - 1 call still open! The European Union and the Government of India ( Department of Science & Technology (DST ), Department of Biotechnology ( DBT ) and Ministry of Earth Sciences ( MoES )), have agreed to join forces to jointly address the global challenges and to achieve climate neutrality.
The Government of India will co-fund the successful Indian entities in 11 calls under the Horizon Europe, of which 6 calls are open right now for submission of proposals. On 6 December the European Commission adopted the Horizon Europe Work Programmes 2023-2024, offering cooperation opportunities for about EUR 13. 5 billion, as part of the overall Horizon Europe budget 2021-2027 of EUR 95.
5 billion. The calls of proposals have been published on 7 December and can be viewed and downloaded on the EU Funding and Tenders Portal . Horizon Europe is open to the world and thus entities from India can participate in all calls unless specifically mentioned otherwise.
Indian entities do, however, have to fund their own participation. For this, the Government of India (the Department of Science & Technology (DST), the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES)) have agreed to provide funding to the successful Indian entities in 11 call topics, of which 6 calls are open for proposal submission.
The Co-Funding Mechanism (CFM) is to be seen in the framework of the EU-India Agreement on Science and Technology the overall EU-India Strategic Partnership, in which cooperation on R&I is an integral part.
The co-funding by the Government of India will allow for joint research in several areas of mutual interest aiming at addressing global challenges in the area of health, digital technologies, climate change, circular economy, clean energy, agri-tech and climate action.
