The Snyder Family’s personal encounters with child abuse and neglect, along with Esther’s belief that every child deserves a chance and a future, is what led to the Foundation’s passionate focus on prevention and intervention in the lives of children and youth. The issue of child abuse and neglect is complex. Our response focuses on 3 core areas: Strengthening families and encouraging safe environments for children and youth.

The In-N-Out Burger Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is supported primarily through donor contributions and internal fundraising activities sponsored by In-N-Out Burger.
Additionally, In-N-Out Burger covers all costs associated with the In-N-Out Burger Foundation ensuring that 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to children and youth in need. Childhelp is a nonprofit founded in 1959 by actresses Sara O’Meara and Yvonne Fedderson. For more than 66 years, it has protected children, strengthened families, and brought hope to those affected by abuse and neglect.
In 2025 alone, Childhelp served more than 350,000 children and families through programs, including its 24/7 Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline, which supports nearly 100,000 children, parents, and caregivers each year. Childhelp Advocacy Centers also serve more than 4,000 children annually, providing safety, medical care, and trauma-informed therapy.

Child abuse occurs when a parent or caregiver, whether through action or failure to act, causes serious physical or emotional harm, death, sexual abuse, exploitation, or imminent risk of serious harm. Children are suffering from an often-unseen epidemic of child abuse and neglect within the U.S. It is a widespread issue that leaves its imprint on countless children, families, and our communities.
At least 1 in 7 children have experienced child abuse or neglect in the past year in the United States. NEW IN 2026 - Operating on an invite-only basis, we exclusively consider a limited number of requests from organizations that align closely with our mission and serve communities where In-N-Out Burger operates. We are excited to announce that our grant funding range has increased to $10,000–$50,000, enabling us to provide greater support to organizations with strong mission alignment who are long-term partners.
The In-N-Out Burger Foundation will only consider support for organizations that meet the following criteria: A registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with at least two years of operation and service provision.
Provide direct support to children and youth who have experienced child abuse and neglect in one or more of the following areas: Foster care/adoption services, prevention and early intervention, court advocacy and legal services, medical and forensic, and TAY education and support. Targeted programs addressing domestic violence, child and family homelessness, or therapeutic services.
Maintain an annual operating budget of at least $100,000. Operate programs or be located within a county where an In-N-Out Burger restaurant is present. Core Grants (Award Range: $10,000–$50,000) Program: Restricted funding to develop, expand, or enhance programs within an existing organization.
General Operating Support: Unrestricted funding to support the overall operations and sustainability of eligible nonprofits. Applicants must clearly demonstrate how funding will sustain the organization’s mission and directly benefit children and youth in their care. Note: All programs must align with our mission to be eligible.
Capital Grants (Award Range: $10,000–$75,000) Capital grants are awarded on a highly selective basis each year to organizations with an established funding relationship with the In-N-Out Burger Foundation (minimum of two years) and that meet all eligibility criteria. Please carefully review the Capital Grant Guidelines above to ensure that your organization meets the requirements to apply. Capital Grants are invitation-only.

Capital Campaign: Restricted funding for constructing new facilities, renovating or upgrading existing buildings, or supporting special projects that advance the organization’s mission to serve children and youth affected by child abuse and neglect.
Capital Purchase: Restricted funding for purchasing equipment, furnishings, or other major assets that enhance the organization’s mission. Only invited organizations currently in our grant portfolio are eligible to apply The Foundation operates on an invite-only basis and considers funding only for organizations located in counties where In-N-Out Burger has a presence, currently spanning 10 states.
