Community Health Needs Assessment Community engagement and volunteerism Improving community conditions At Kaiser Permanente Northwest, we cultivate thoughtful partnerships with local organizations that align with our mission and promote the mental, physical, and social well-being of people in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Many of these partnerships are created through our grants and event sponsorships that support vital community programs and services, and address issues that affect the overall health of the community. Our grantmaking programs align with our local and national Community Health priorities and strategies to meet the health needs of the communities we serve.

Grant proposals are accepted on an invitation-only basis; no unsolicited proposals are accepted. The KP Gives — Volunteer Donation Program has a designated open period for submissions. Employee volunteer donations Kaiser Permanente Northwest is proud that many of our employees give generously of their time and expertise to support community-based organizations throughout the region.

To demonstrate our support for their work, we established the KP Gives — Volunteer Donation Program. Access qualifying criteria, submission deadlines, and the online application for community-based organizations . Surplus equipment donations Kaiser Permanente Northwest’s surplus equipment donation program makes in-kind donations to organizations in need. Any qualified tax-exempt organization may apply. Learn more about our surplus equipment donation program .

Our sponsorships invest in events that bring the community together and increase public understanding and support for our brand and mission. Eligibility for sponsorships is guided by our Community Health Needs Assessments , or CHNA, and inform where Kaiser Permanente Northwest resources will make the greatest impact.

In addition to Community Health priorities and CHNA, sponsorship proposals are also evaluated based on meeting the following criteria: Organization must have valid 501(c)(3) tax status Organization must fall within our Kaiser Permanente Northwest service area (including counties in Oregon state: Benton, Clackamas, Columbia, Hood River, Lane, Linn, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Washington, Yamhill; and Washington state: Clark, Cowlitz, Skamania, Wahkiakum) Proposal must provide the opportunity to create long-term value Proposal must reach targeted audiences and potential for building long-term, sustainable relationships Proposal must provide positive exposure for Kaiser Permanente Kaiser Permanente Northwest employees must be engaged with the organization; preference given to employees who serve as board members on community-based organizations Requests will enhance internal strategies and business growth Organizations must not discriminate based on sex, age, economic status, educational background, race, color, ancestry, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status in their programs, services, policies, hiring practices, and administration We are unable to support the following types of activities: Events outside the Kaiser Permanente Northwest service area (see counties listed in criteria above) Donations or support to general-appeal campaigns, endowments, or memorials Requests that benefit an individual, family, or group Local (city, school) sporting events, individuals, or sports teams Religious activities, in whole or in part, for furthering religious doctrine School-affiliated orchestras, bands, choirs, drama groups, yearbooks, class parties, or class or team projects Political candidates, activities, or organizations Personal appeals for funding of individual medical care, insurance coverage for individuals, scholarships, tuition, educational expenses, conference registration, and the like Film or documentary productions Proposals for event sponsorships are accepted by invitation only.

Upon invitation, you will receive a link to our online application. Proposals must be submitted at least 60 days before the scheduled event date. Submitting a proposal does not guarantee we will sponsor your event.
